In response to the industry pain point of insufficient spot uniformity in laser applications, a special homogenized optical fiber with a square fiber core structure has recently completed technical verification and been put into the market.

According to reports, the homogenized optical fiber uses the mode mixing characteristics of the square fiber core, which can effectively eliminate the inhomogeneity of the traditional Gaussian spot and output a flat-top spot with uniform intensity, especially suitable for lithography manufacturing, biomedical imaging and other scenarios with strict requirements for the shape of the spot. In terms of coupling efficiency, the matching degree of the square fiber core with the rectangular emission surface of semiconductor lasers, LEDs and other devices is significantly improved, which greatly reduces the optical coupling loss, and at the same time facilitates docking with square detectors, gratings and other equipment, and improves system integration.

The product is made of laser damage-resistant materials, with outstanding damage resistance, supporting customization of multi-core arrangement, transmission wavelength covering 400-2400nm, and transmittance maintained above 98%. At present, this technology has been piloted in astronomical spectroscopy, laser precision processing and other fields, and is expected to further expand to high-end fields such as display panel manufacturing and micro-nano processing in the future, promoting the development of laser applications in the direction of higher precision.
