In response to the demand for cost reduction and efficiency increase in the photovoltaic industry, the UV fiber laser system has recently achieved large-scale application in the production of thin-film solar cells, with a 2.5 micron narrow cut processing capacity, the cell dicing speed is increased to 1.5 m/s, and there is no heat-affected area, effectively improving the yield. The system adopts patented beam homogenization technology, which can output a flat-top spot with uniform energy density, which is suitable for multi-band processing from 1064nm to 266nm.
Compared with traditional silicon crystal cells, thin-film cells are only a few microns thick, and the material cost is reduced by more than 60%, while the application of UV fiber systems further solves the problem of easy damage in thin film processing. Its multi-optical path automatic focusing module can accurately process non-planar substrates, complete the P1-P4 full-process dicing and edge isolation, and adapt to various battery types such as amorphous silicon and cadmium telluride. With the promotion of this technology, the mass production cost of thin-film solar cells is expected to be reduced by another 15%, injecting impetus into the development of the new energy industry.
